Response to Review of The Church in the Long Eighteenth Century

The author is pleased to accept this deeply engaged and engaging review.  The one point of substantial criticism, namely that my own peripatetic travels across the Atlantic world have probably led me to exaggerate the degree of mobility among eighteenth-century populations is no doubt correct.  The one other point worth mentioning is that the reviewer's mention of my book in the context of the work of John Bossy is particularly significant to me, as Professor Bossy was my first undergraduate tutor in history in Queen's University Belfast quite a long time ago.  I am very grateful for such a careful and insightful review.
