Excellent, subtle review. A point of info re. the penultimate paragraph - helicopter gunships in the US forces are generally flown by Army personnel, not USAF; and if the incident referred to is this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_12,_2007_Baghdad_airstrike then that is certainly the case...

'Thus, I would argue, it is not the German army, the Wehrmacht, that is at the centre of this study, but the Luftwaffe' - this statement by the reviewer is wrong. 'Wehrmacht' is best rendered in English as 'Armed Forces', not the army, which in German is 'Heer'. The Luftwaffe was part of the Wehrmacht.
